Community Organization Worker (*3)
Start Date: June 30, 2025 (30 hours per week, total of 9 weeks, $17.20 / hr)
Overview:
As a Community Organizers Summer Intern, you will be an integral part of our organization's efforts to engage and empower local communities. You will work closely with our team to plan, coordinate, and execute various community events, initiatives, and outreach programs.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community organizing, event management, and grassroots advocacy.
Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the team to plan and organize community events, including workshops, town halls, and volunteer activities.

Support event promotion efforts through social media, email campaigns, and community outreach.

Conduct outreach activities to engage community members and stakeholders.

Provide general administrative support to the community organizing team, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and responding to inquiries.

Assist in maintaining accurate records, files, and databases related to community initiatives.
Qualifications:

Be between 15-30 years of age, at the start of the position.

Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom Refugee Status has been granted/conferred.

Have a valid SIN and be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably in a related field such as business and commerce, finance, community development, sociology, data science, or communications.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media platforms.

Bilingualism (English/Chinese) is an asset
