2008年10月9日，北京市投资促进局在多伦多举办了有关北京市投资环境的介绍说明会。加中贸易理事会（CCBC）和加中金融协会联合协助了此次说明会的成功举行。
由周卫民博士率领的北京市投资促进局代表团，还将赴纽约和旧金山举行说明会。代表团在多伦多其间，还先后访问了满地可银行，皇家银行和多伦多证交所等单位。
访问团除北京市投资促进局的成员外，还有银监会、证监会和保监会，北京银行，华夏银行，北京农业银行等单位的代表。

On Oct 11, 2008, CCFA Mentorship Program 2008 was launched at the Schulich Business School of York University. More than 60 students, university staff, and CCFA members attended the meeting.
This is the second year for CCFA to provide mentorship to business school students in Ontario. More than 47 students from York University, Brock University and University of Toronto participated in the program, whereas about 40 professionals in finance become volunteers as mentors.
CCFA’s Mentorship Program aims to help students who are new in this country and wish to learn more about the Canadian finance industry.
Last year, about 28 students from Schulich School participated in the CCFA Mentorship Program. The overall comments were very positive. Many students found that the program provided a unique opportunity for them to make friend with CCFA’s members, and understand the industry better.
Bank of China (Canada), Royal Bank and many other Canadian financial firms support the CCFA’s Mentorship Program.

加中金融协会2008年辅导计划
2008年10月11日，加中金融协会2008年辅导计划在约克大学舒力克商学院正式宣布开始。大约有60名来自约克大学、布洛克大学和多伦多大学的学生、职员和部分加中金融协会的成员参加了仪式。
今年是加中金融协会为安省商学院学生提供的第二届辅导计划。超过47名约克大学、布洛克大学和多伦多大学的学生参加了今年的辅导计划。将近40位金融业的专业人员自愿成为辅导计划的导师。
加 中金融协会辅导计划目的是帮助那些来自其他国家和文化背景的商学院的学生，让他们能更好地了解、熟悉加拿大的金融体系。该计划是加中金融协会对社会和社区 的贡献。去年，有28位约克大学舒力克商学院的学生参加了该计划。他们的普遍反映非常好。许多同学觉得该计划让他们有难得的机会能和加中金融协会的成员结 交朋友，以及更深刻地了解金融界。
中国银行、皇家银行和其他金融机构对于加中金融协会的辅导计划提供了积极支持。

本协会讯 （通讯员 黄芳）9月29日至10月3日，加中金融协会为赴加交流的中国华夏基金公司人员提供了资产管理专业培训。此次培训，由加中金融协会中杰出的华人基金经理与资产管理专家授课，与中国基金从业人员分享北美资产管理的经验。
华 夏基金公司，是中国基金业巨头。截至2008年6月30日，该公司管理资产规模超过2100亿元，是境内管理基金资产规模最大的基金管理公司。此外，该公 司于2008年2月获得特定资产管理业务资格，也是中国基金业务领域最广泛的基金公司之一。作为国内境内首批QDII基金管理人，华夏基金公司十分注重对 海外金融市场的开发研究，经常选派公司优秀人才赴海外学习交流，与国际接轨。
此次，华夏基金公司选派了27名精英在总裁助理张后奇先生的带领下赴 加学习，学员们来自涉及资产管理的各个部门。在加中金融协会的组织协助下，华夏基金公司一行到加拿大主要的金融资产管理机构BMO, RBC, OTPP, Macquarie, TDAM and TDAF, SSGA等进行实地拜访，并与这些机构的高层进行了亲切会谈。
在为期四天的课 堂培训和访问中，加中金融协会特别联系了多伦多的华人资深证券分析专家罗蓥、资深基金经理吴雅楠，Jia Dawn，Janet Cheng, Kelwin Meng等讲课。课程内容主要围绕基金投资组合业绩考核与提升、投资战略、投资产品组合构造、基金市场推广等方面，深受学员欢迎。华夏基金公司人员表示受 益匪浅，培训大大加深了他们对北美资本市场和金融投资产品的了解。
加中金融协会负责人表示，此类培训充分发挥了加拿大华人杰出金融投资人才的积极作用，深入推动了加中金融从业人员的直接交流，为加中两国今后的金融合作创造了更多机会。

Winnie transferred to PricewaterhouseCoopers Beijing in 2006 as a transfer-pricing senior manager from PricewaterhouseCoopers Toronto, where she had four years of audit and transfer pricing experience. Previously, she had over eight years of China tax and audit experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

With her over fourteen-year working experience with PwC, Winnie has built up extensive China and international tax, transfer pricing and audit experience. Winnie has also established a wide-based working relationship with the China tax authorities as well as within the PwC global network.

爱心教育基金在道明银行（TD Bank）设有慈善基金账户。为了帮助灾区人民，新设有“四川救灾基金”和“四川灾区学校重建基金”。有意捐款者可直接将资金存入银行账户。我们筹款募捐 的目标最低为10万加元，根据加拿大政府的最新等额赞助计划，捐给爱心教育基金的每一元捐款，将得到加拿大政府同等数量的赞助。目前基金会的“四川灾区学 校重建基金”已经筹集到3万多加元，已有25捐款组织表示愿意与爱心教育基金合作。加拿大小肥羊火锅北美分店率先带头从5月19日起将一周全部午餐收入， 包括小费全部捐给灾区受灾民众，募捐善款将转交给加拿大爱心教育基金。
     与一般的非牟利机构不同的是，每一份个人捐款收到后，作为慈善机构的爱心教育基金将提供扣税收据。因此，爱心教育基金非常欢迎其他筹款组织通过本基金会的慈善捐款退税机制并同加拿大政府的等额赞助计划，汇合多个渠道筹款，以达到最大赈灾筹款效应。
     同时，与某些大型慈善机构不同的是，所有爱心教育基金的救灾筹款将以最快，中间环节最少，目前行政开支为零的方式用于帮助灾区儿童。
     爱心教育基金已与联合国儿童教育基金（UNICEF）达成了合作意向；并正与四川省省委沟通有关建立多伦多爱心学校的计划。个人和团体捐款金额多者可给学校，图书馆，或教室冠名。 具体进展细节将通过本基金会网站向捐款人及时汇报。
     爱心教育基金将会派人与大企业公司商讨，希望每年圣诞节的惯例慈善筹款能包括爱心教育基金为捐款对象，捐助四川灾区的学校重建工程。

首届加中金融财务论坛在多伦多举行

2008年5月11日，由加中金融协会（CCFA）和加中专业会计师协会（CCPAA）联合发起的“加中金融财务论坛”在多伦多成功举行。加中金融财务论坛的宗旨是搭建中、加两国在金融财务领域的交流平台。

当天有近百人参加了本届论坛，他们大多是自加拿大银行，证券公司和保险公司的高管，政府部门和企业的高级财务管理人员，会计师事务所的主管，还有来自约克大学和多伦多大学的MBA学生。

本届论坛的主办方之一加中金融协会（www.theccfa.ca）是由在加拿大工作的华裔金融界专业人士组成的非牟利机构。协会于2001年成立以来，积极地促进中加金融界在实务和学术方面的交流与合作。论坛的另一个主办方加中专业会计师协会(www.ccpaa.ca) 是由在加拿大工作多年的具有中国背景的专业会计师组成。协会致力于提高加中两国在会计、审计、税务等相关领域的交流与合作。据了解，2008年CCPAA 温哥华分会即将成立。CCFA会长王体博士，副会长王勇博士，CCPAA会长张晖先生，和副会长林霞女士均出席了论坛并讲话。
    
本 届论坛第一个主题--透视美国次级债的起因和影响，是由加拿大皇家银行集团副总裁，全球风险管理部董事总经理王勇博士主讲。 他从美国次级债的起因讲起，介绍了次级债劵市场的发展和演变过程，透彻地分析了按揭资产证券化市场中评级公司，投行的角色，以及复杂交易模型无法量化的流 通性对整个结构性产品及其对全球资本市场的深度影响力。王勇博士透彻独到的分析，旁征博引的内容，诙谐风趣的演讲风格，深受参会者的欢迎，并引发了会场上 的热烈讨论。

论坛的第二个主题演讲--巴塞尔协议对中国国有银行改制的影响，主讲人是来自普华永道的应春子和郭丽女士。应春子曾就职于 中国建设银行，郭丽曾在汇丰银行（北京）任职。她们一起加入普化永道（北京）为国有银行改制提供咨询和服务。应春子介绍了新巴塞尔协议的框架和要素，以及 应用方面的问题。郭丽则针对新巴塞尔协议在中国的实施作了详尽的介绍。与会听众中不少也是这方面的专家，他们兴致勃勃地和主讲人讨论中加两国银行在应用巴 塞尔协议方面的差异。

3个小时的论坛很快就过去了，大家意犹未尽！并且翘首以盼下一届论坛。本届是首届加中金融论坛。据了解，论坛将每年 分别在中国和加拿大各举办一次。下一届论坛将于2008年11月在北京举办，届时将邀请中加两国的金融和财务专家共聚一堂，讨论中国资本市场和财务管理方 面的热点话题，为金融财务专业人士提供最新的资讯和交流互动平台。

We are all greatly saddened by the recent tragedy happened in China. The earthquake has killed thousands of people and left the lives and dreams of many more shattered. It's heart-breaking to see the parents line up to identify the bodies of their children being dug up from the rubbles.

The CCFA executive team calls upon our community to donate your time and resources to help relieve the impact of the disaster. Here's what you can do:

1. Donate money to the charity organizations directly involved in the disaster relief in China
2. Reach out to your local MP and urge the Canadian government to a) Set up a relief fund for China earthquake; and b) Match citizen's donations dollar for dollar (This was done in the last Asian Tsunami.)

To maximize the impact of your donation, the following factors need to be considered:
1. A bank deposit is better than on-line credit card donation as the latter may subject to transaction fees
2. Some charities have higher expense ratios than others

Dear CCFA Members and Friends:
As we heard this morning with surprise that a strong earthquake of magnitude 7.8 (or 7.9 by U.S. Geological Survey) hit Sichuan, China at 2:28pm Beijing time. As to this moment, it is reported that the loss of life and property is termed as “huge”. More than 9,000 people died so far. We believe that more data are coming. We are closely watching the latest reports.

On behalf of CCFA, I would like to extend our condolence to whoever suffered from such a tragedy. Also, we ask all CCFA members to show support and offer help in whatever means for the people in that region.
