C.1.  Wang, Yong – What went wrong in the US sub-prime?

Mr. Yong Wang is the Vice President of Global Risk Management at RBC Financial Group, Managing Director and Head of the Analytics Group responsible for the enterprise-wide model risks.  He has 13 years of risk management experience working collaboratively across platform with senior bank executives and regulators. He has been instrumental in formulating model risk policies and solving problems relating to derivative trading and their imbedded risks on a global basis.
He is a frequent speaker at internal/external roundtable discussion on derivatives modeling and market risk issues, and a guest speaker at Fields Institute, Rotman School of Business, Schulich School of Business, Queens Business School, and various financial institutions in China.
He has published a best-seller book on banking in China and has partnered with Professor John Hull to introduce the Chinese version of his text books to China, including “Risk Management and Financial Institutions”,” Fundamentals of Futures and Options Markets” and “Options, Futures and Other Derivatives”(7E, to be released). 
He holds a PhD in Mathematics from Dalhousie University, is a CFA chartered holder and a certified Financial Risk Manager from GARP.
Dr. Yong Wang is a founding member and a vice president of the Canadian-Chinese Finance Association.
In his presentation, Dr. Yong Wang will provide an in-depth analysis on the origin of sub-prime crisis and its impact to the financial system.

C.2  Chunzi Ying and Li Guo – The Reform of the Chinese State-Owned Banks

Chunzi used to work with China Construction Bank as Project Manager. Li used to work with HSBC in China as Credit Officer. They both joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (“PwC”) Beijing office Advisory group as Manager in 2005 and came to PwC Toronto for secondment in 2006 and 2007 respectively. They now work with the Advisory - Performance Improvement group.
The Chinese state-owned banks were reformed and became public companies in recent years. The presentation includes an overview of the reform and its impact on the Chinese economy.
