    2015 Canada China Finance Forum – 2015加中金融投资论坛大会策划

    On November 8, 2014, Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper and Prime Minister of China, Keqiang Li announced the year 2015 -2016 as the Year of Cultural Exchanges between China and Canada during his visit to China. Committed to serving the event, Canadian Chinese Finance Association, together with Alternative Investment Management Association, Association of Canadian Chinese Entrepreneur, financial institutions, and social agencies, etc are going to hold 2015 Canada China Finance Forum on July 8, 2015 at TMX Gallery, The Exchange Tower, 130 King Street West Toronto.

    The Forum will bring together senior public and private business leaders to offer a strong focus on increasing investment and trade between the two countries. Attendees will benefit from discovering favourable cross-border opportunities, developing new business relationships, and access to the economic insights of today’s thought leaders in Canada-China investment and trade relations.

    Joe Oliver, Minister of Finance, Canada

    Joe Oliver  is a Member of Parliament and currently serving as the Minister of Finance. He was name as Minister of Natural Resources, executive director of the Ontario Securities Commission and the CEO of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada.

       
     Featured Speakers  
       Aihua Li is the President and CEO of Bank of China (Canada). Mr. Li began his career with Bank of China in 1988 and has more than sixteen years of overseas and domestic senior managerial experiences. Prior to his current role, Mr. Li served as the General Manager of the Custody Services Department, Bank of China in Beijing Head Office. He also previously held the positions of General Manager of Bank of China Johannesburg Branch in South Africa, Deputy General Manager of Financial Institutions Department and Manager of International Business Department at Bank of China, Head Office in Beijing.
       
       Bob Guo is the founder and the CEO of Goldenmount Capital International. Prior to that, Mr. Guo worked at TD Bank and Bank of Montreal, providing financing and advisory services to the companies and investors. Goldenmount Capital also provides IPO and Mergers & Acquisition consulting services for Chinese companies aiming to enter North America.
       
       Bryan Osmar is the SVP and Head, Market Infrastructure at RBC Capital Markets. Mr. Osmar joined RBC’s International Money Markets group in Toronto in 1980, subsequently holding progressive positions for oversight of RBC’s foreign exchange, money market and derivatives trading. He is on the board of the Investment Industry Association of Canada, and is a former board member of CLS Group Holdings AG and CLS Bank International.
       
       Catherine Chandler-Crichlow is the Executive Director of the Centre of Excellence for Financial Services Education. She has held a variety of senior leadership roles in the private and public sector and was Associate Vice President – Education and Training at TD Bank Financial Group. Dr. Chandler-Crichlow has consulted to international agencies such as the World Bank, the central banks of Brazil, Malaysia as well as with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Malaysia.
       
       C. J. Gavsie is the Managing Director, Co-Head of Global Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (FICC) at BMO Capital Markets. Previously, Mr. Gavsie was Global Head of Foreign Exchange Products & China Capital Markets where he oversaw global foreign exchange operations of BMO Capital Markets in Canada, the United States, Europe and China. He is also a co-chair on the Toronto Financial Services Alliance (TFSA) RMB working group.
       
       Edwin D. Cass is the Senior Vice-President & Chief Investment Strategist at CPP Investment Board. Mr. Cass is responsible for overall fund level investment strategy. He chairs the Investment Planning Committee, which approves all new investment programs and oversees all portfolio risks, including passive, active, credit and liquidity risk. Mr. Cass joined the CPP Investment Board in 2008, and headed up the Global Capital Markets group, the Global Corporate Securities group and then the Global Tactical Asset Allocation team prior to his current role.
       
       Ian C. Michael is a partner in the Business Law Group and co-chair of the China group at McCarthy Tetrault LLP. Mr. Michael practices corporate and securities law with a focus on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. Mr. Michael has extensive experience in representing companies in mergers and acquisitions transactions. He also acts for both corporate issuers of securities and for the underwriters/investors in private placements and public financing.
       
       John C. S. Anderson is Head of North American Corporate Finance at John Hancock and parent company Manulife. He directs US and Canadian investment teams in the origination, analysis, and management of investments in public bonds, private placement debt, and private equity to support the insurance and other products guaranteed by Hancock and Manulife. This group manages a roughly $100 billion portfolio, and has been a leader in the US private placement market for decades.
       
       James Burron is the Chief Operating Officer of Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) Canada. Mr. Burron has a solid background of more than 20 years of international experience in the securities industry including a significant background in the alternative investment industry. He has been involved in product origination on global platforms.
       
       Michael P. Kilkenny is the Chief Risk Officer for China Construction Bank (Canada). He has over thirty-five years of working experience with major international financial institutions. His assignments have included the banking, credit union, brokerage, trust and leasing sectors and he has held positions such as CRO, COO, CLO, CFO, Head of Operations, Head of Technology and VP Retail, Private and Commercial Banking
       
       Patricia Mohr is Vice-President, Economics and Commodity Market Specialist at Scotiabank’s Executive Offices in Toronto. Patricia works closely with the Corporate and Investment Banking groups — including the Mining and Oil & Gas teams — with Institutional Equity Sales and Global Risk Management.
       
       Philip Seymour is currently the Vice President of Global Risk Management in Scotiabank.  Mr. Seymour has extensive experience in Canadian Domestic Banking, Internal Audit, International Mergers & Acquisitions, Finance & Risk Management. Previous to his current role, he was based in Hong Kong as the Vice President, CFO & Corporate Development for the bank’s operations in Asia, which included responsibility for the Bank’s proprietary M&A activities in the region and oversight responsibility for the Bank’s affiliate in China – Bank of Xi’an (19% equity stake).
       
       Sandy He-Easton is Senior Policy Advisor of International Trade Branch, Government of Ontario. She has over 15 years of diverse experience in business strategy development and business operations and is a frequent speaker at Canadian-Chinese trade and commerce conferences.
       
       Simon Zou is the Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Canada). Mr. Zou had more than 15 years of experience in the banking industry and hold management positions in finance, operations and internal audit with several major Canadian financial institutions.
       
       Ungad Chadda is Senior Vice President of Toronto Stock Exchange. Mr. Chadda joined TMX Group in 1997 and is responsible for all aspects of Toronto Stock Exchange’s listings business since 2009.
